The DS103-BK is a powered subwoofer in a sealed cabinet, using a 10-inch polypropylene woofer with a textured cone surface. It is driven by a Class D amplifier rated at 100 W RMS and 200 W peak. Low-frequency response is given as 31 Hz at -3 dB and 29 Hz at -6 dB, with total harmonic distortion below 0.1%. The sealed design is described as favouring quick transient response and controlled bass.
The crossover can be set between 50 and 150 Hz. Front controls cover volume, frequency, phase and an auto on/off function. Standby consumption is under 0.5 W.
For connection, the subwoofer has LFE, stereo and high-level inputs, plus a high-level output. The cabinet measures 310 x 328 x 310 mm (W x D x H), weighs 10.3 kg and is finished in Black Ash vinyl with a satin black vinyl front. It is one of three sizes in the Debut 3.0 subwoofer range, alongside the 12-inch DS123-BK and the 15-inch DS153-BK.
