Seller rules

Version 2026-10-02. In force from 2026-10-02.

In short

  • You sell as a private individual. There is no selling fee: you get the full agreed price.
  • Describe the item accurately and show it in your own photos.
  • Ship or hand over within 5 days of payment. Once 6 days have passed, an unshipped order is cancelled.
  • You get the money when the buyer confirms receipt or the confirmation time runs out (if you allowed change-of-mind returns, when the return window ends): it goes to your Stripe account, and Stripe sends it to your bank on the payout schedule shown in the Stripe account.

1. Who can sell

  • A private individual at least 18 years old, selling their own things.
  • To get payouts, you need to connect a bank account through Stripe. Until payouts are set up, your listing isn't shown to buyers.
  • Payouts are available to residents of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Poland.
  • If you sell a lot, we have to collect your tax details and report them to the Lithuanian State Tax Inspectorate (VMI) — see DAC7.

2. Listing

  • Required: title, price, city, category and at least one photo (or a Soundium catalogue image).
  • Tell the truth about condition, what's included, defects and whether it works. If something doesn't work, say so.
  • You choose whether you allow change-of-mind returns: within 7 days, within 14 days, or no returns. An order keeps the terms it was bought on. If you allow returns and ship with our DPD label (S or M), pick a locker for returns on the label form — a buyer's return with our DPD label goes there.
  • Photos must be of your item, not from the internet.
  • You may not offer prohibited items.
  • No more than 20 new listings and 20 drafts per day.
  • For the first 14 days after you create your account, a new listing posted while you already have 5 public sale listings, and listings priced above €1,500, are checked by Soundium before they appear (current limits; Soundium may change them).
  • For equipment priced at €300 or more (except records and accessories), you need to enter the serial number (current limit). Only you, Soundium and the buyer who paid for the order see it.
  • A listing is live for 60 days. When it is 45 days old, we'll ask if you're still selling; if you don't renew it, the listing is hidden.
  • The “Bought at Soundium” badge is shown only for an item you bought at the Soundium store with the same email. If you change the title, brand or model, the badge is removed.

3. Offers

  • You can allow offers or set a final price.
  • An offer must be at least 50% of the asking price and is valid for 24 hours.
  • In one chat, in the last 24 hours, no more than 3 offers or counter-offers can be made.
  • You can set a minimum acceptable price: offers at or above it are accepted automatically.
  • Once a price is agreed, the buyer has 24 hours to pay.

4. Shipping and handover

  • Ship or hand over within 5 days of payment. We'll remind you 3 days after payment.
  • Once 6 days have passed since payment, an unshipped order is cancelled automatically. In the last 6 hours before the cancellation, you can no longer ship or hand it over.
  • If Soundium is checking the buyer's payment, the order page shows that the order is being checked. Don't ship or hand over the item until it says you can. Once the check is done, ship within 5 days of Soundium's decision, but no later than 5 days 18 hours after payment. If the decision comes so late that you can no longer ship, the order is cancelled, the buyer gets the money back and you are not penalised for it. Which payments are checked is set out in section 6, point 3 of the Terms of use.
  • If Soundium is checking the payment for a service booking, provide the service as agreed — the booking goes ahead as usual. Only your payout waits until Soundium finishes the check.
  • In Lithuania you create the shipping label on Market (DPD). The buyer pays for shipping; you pay nothing.
  • If you don't live in Lithuania, you ship yourself at a price you set (up to €100) and enter the tracking number.
  • For an in-person handover, enter the buyer's 6-digit code. Only enter the code once the item is in the buyer's hands.
  • Pack the item so it doesn't get damaged. You can upload photos of the packaging on the order page; only you and the Soundium team see them, and the team can look at them at any time (e.g. if there is a dispute). More — Shipping and pickup.

5. Cancellations

  • Before handover or shipping, you can cancel a paid order by giving a reason. The buyer pays nothing.
  • Cancellations are visible to Soundium and affect the “Trusted seller” badge (in 6 months, no more than 1 is allowed).
  • After handover you can no longer cancel — problems are handled through a dispute.

6. Money

WhatWhen
Money is taken from the buyerWhen you ship with a tracking number or enter the handover code
Payout to your Stripe accountWhen the buyer confirms receipt, or automatically: 48 hours after an in-person handover, 5 days after shipping to Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia, 7 days after shipping to another country
Order or service booking with a total of €500 or more (current limit)Paid out only after Soundium approves the payout
If your listing allowed change-of-mind returnsPaid out when the return window ends (7 or 14 days after receipt), not on the times in the row above
Money in your bankStripe sends it on the payout schedule shown in the Stripe account
  • You get the item price, plus your own shipping price if you shipped yourself. The Soundium protection fee and DPD shipping paid through Market stay with Soundium.
  • After you change your payout bank account, no payouts are made for 48 hours (current limit).
  • If the buyer reports a problem, the payout is paused until the dispute is resolved.
  • If the dispute decision is a partial refund, you are paid the item price and your shipping, minus the part refunded to the buyer.
  • If the buyer returns the item for a change of mind, confirm “I got the item back” in the case within 5 days of sending (48 hours when it was handed back in person), otherwise Soundium decides. The buyer gets the item price back, minus our DPD label price if it was used; you are not paid, and the item comes back to you. If you shipped yourself, your shipping price stays with you.
  • If the buyer doesn't send the item within 7 days of the request or cancels the request, you are paid as usual. If the buyer had taken our DPD label, the payout waits until the DPD shipment is cancelled (unless Soundium has already decided the case); if it can't be cancelled within a day, the item is treated as sent back: the payout is held until you confirm you got it or Soundium decides.
  • If a problem is reported within 48 hours after the payout and the dispute is resolved in the buyer's favour, the refunded amount is deducted from your Stripe account, but no more than you were paid.

7. Breaches

If you break these rules, Soundium can hide your listing, warn you or suspend your account. We tell you the decision and the reason by email. How to appeal — Reports and complaints.
