The U22 is a 24-bit/192 kHz audio interface with two combo mic/line inputs, one Hi-Z instrument input and two headphone outputs. Instead of knobs it uses a 5.5-inch high-resolution TFT screen showing digital meters and dB readouts, while gain, input type, phantom power, muting, channel linking, direct monitoring and headphone volume are set in the iO Pro software. The software also handles routing and loopback audio without a DAW.
The mic preamps provide up to 60 dB of gain. Converters are specified at 121 dB dynamic range for the ADC and 130 dB for the DAC. The housing is die-cast zinc, and a magnetic ring allows mounting on a stand.
The interface connects over USB-C and comes with an OTG cable for iPhone, Android and computers, and it can charge a connected device while in use. Headphone outputs are 6.35 mm and 3.5 mm. It works with macOS, Windows 10/11 and iOS/iPadOS 11 or later, and is supplied with a 12V DC power adapter.
