The RP-500C is a bass-reflex center channel speaker for the front of a home theater system. It pairs a 1-inch titanium Linear Travel Suspension vented tweeter, mounted on a 90° x 90° hybrid Tractrix horn, with two 5.25-inch spun copper Cerametallic woofers. The horn is intended to aim high-frequency output at the listener and limit reflections from room surfaces.
The tweeter has a vented design to reduce standing waves behind the diaphragm and a ceramic magnet housing, while computer-modeled phase plugs protect it and help keep the response smooth. The woofer cones use dual-layer copper-wound voice coils and sit in non-resonating stamped-steel baskets with large magnet motors. A rear-firing Tractrix port tunes the cabinet.
The cabinet comes in scratch-resistant ebony and walnut finishes with satin painted baffles. A flexible magnetic grille is removable. The speaker measures 6.81" x 18.50" x 9.5". A spec sheet and a product manual are available as downloads from the maker.
