The C 268 is a two-channel power amplifier from NAD's Classic Series. It uses a HybridDigital UcD amplifier design and a high-efficiency switch-mode power supply that can supply high current for musical peaks. It is rated at 80 W per channel in stereo mode with THD below 0.03 %.
A switch bridges the amplifier into mono, giving up to 300 W of continuous power into 8 ohms. The maker names the NAD C 379 and C 368 as partners for bridged use. Bridging, together with bi-amping support, makes it usable with more demanding loudspeakers.
Both balanced and single-ended inputs are fitted, with an input level control for matching sources. A line output allows daisy chaining of further amplifiers. System control features include auto turn-on with a selectable threshold, a 12V trigger input and output, and a ground lug for reducing noise. The AC power cord is detachable and the unit is compatible with global mains voltages.
