TX-8470

The TX-8470 is a stereo receiver that concentrates on two channels rather than the many channels of an AV receiver. It uses a high-current Class G amplifier with a low negative feedback design, a custom transformer, low-impedance capacitors, and gold-plated speaker terminals and RCA inputs.

Digital audio is handled by an AKM AK4452 32-bit/768 kHz stereo DAC. A phono board for MM and MC cartridges is isolated from the rest of the circuitry and uses discrete op amp circuitry, so a turntable can be connected directly.

For connectivity, the receiver has HDMI ARC, which carries audio and device control over a single cable. Built-in network streaming works with services including Roon, Tidal and Deezer, and Apple and Google assistants are supported for smart home use.
