The TB2S-AII is a powered nearfield monitor from PMC's Professional range and the larger of its two active models. It pairs a 170mm doped bass driver on a cast alloy chassis with a 27mm fabric soft-dome tweeter, crossing over at 2kHz. The bass is loaded by an Advanced Transmission Line with an effective length of 1.5m, which allows more bass extension and higher output than the smaller DB1S-AII.
The AII revision brings a retuned crossover network aimed at a clearer mid and vocal region, and a new DS-001 Class D power module. Output rises from 100W to 200W with lower distortion. Its design is not load dependent, and a single feedback loop senses the speaker load and adjusts the response, giving a very low output impedance.
The monitor is intended for stereo or surround work, with the TLE1S powered subwoofer as the suggested partner for surround. An optional POWERDRIVE WHH75 wall mount is listed. A 20 year warranty is available when the product is registered within 10 days of purchase, subject to terms.
