The ELEGAN 1 is a 15.5-litre bass-reflex bookshelf loudspeaker. A 165mm woven Kevlar cone handles bass and midrange, while a 25mm soft fabric dome tweeter sits in a waveguide intended to keep tonal balance consistent across the listening area. Bass extension is quoted at 44Hz (-6dB), and the crossover point is 2.9kHz.
The cabinet is built from high-density MDF with internal bracing to limit resonance. At the rear, a precision-profiled port, branded Improved Airflow, is meant to reduce turbulence and keep low frequencies controlled. Sensitivity is 86dB and the recommended amplifier power range is 30-150W, with a minimum impedance of 4.3Ω.
The speaker is supplied as a passive pair-style standmount design with rear terminals and a grille, and is offered in matte black or real walnut veneer. Protective feet are included as a standard accessory. It is positioned to pair with QUAD's electronics, such as the Platina Integrated and QUAD 33/303 amplifiers listed as related products.
