Airphones

The Airphones combine a compact DJ headphone design with active noise cancelling, which the maker calls Silent Air technology. The noise cancelling is meant to reduce steady background sound such as aircraft engines, city noise and noise on trains or in offices. The 2x 40 mm drivers are tuned for DJ use, with clear frequency separation and high output level, and they keep their detail with noise cancelling switched on.

The closed earcups rotate and collapse, and the flat construction keeps the chassis light and compact, so the headphones pack down for travel. The headband and ear cushions are padded for comfort, and the build is described as sturdy enough for continuous DJ use. Noise reduction is more than 16 dB between 100 and 320 Hz.

The cable is removable, so the headphones can also be worn only for passive isolation. Active circuitry runs on AAA batteries, giving about 40 hours of use. A carrying and transportation bag, the detachable cable and a plane adaptor are included.
