The TR-06 is a Roland Boutique module modeled on the 1981 TR-606 drum machine. It reproduces the original's seven instruments (bass drum, snare, low and hi toms, cymbal, open and closed hi-hat), with variation sounds for several of them, and adds control over tuning, decay and pan for each voice. A gain control can push the circuit into overdrive or distortion.
Onboard effects include a compressor, a range of delay types (delay, pan delay, tape echo, reverb, flanger, side band filter) and drive types (saturator, bit crusher, distortion, LPF/HPF). The sequencer keeps the familiar step-entry workflow and adds sub-steps for ratchets, step-loop slicing, flam, intro/fill-in and probability at step, sub-step and master level.
For integration, it has five trigger outputs and one trigger input for modular gear, MIDI in and out, and a Micro-B USB port that carries both audio and MIDI. It runs on four AA batteries or USB bus power, has a built-in speaker, and sits in a color-matched DK-01 dock with three tilt positions. A TR-606 software plug-in on Roland Cloud has the hardware knobs pre-mapped.
