The RS 175-U is a set of closed, dynamic over-ear headphones designed for listening to TV audio without a cable. Sound is sent digitally from a transmitter on the 2.4 to 2.48 GHz band using Kleer wireless technology, which keeps the signal clear and accurate at a range of up to 100 metres.
The headphones offer a bass boost mode and a surround sound listening mode. The main controls sit directly on the headphones, and the system is described as straightforward to set up. The frequency response spans 17 to 22,000 Hz, with maximum sound pressure level of 114 dB at 1 kHz and total harmonic distortion below 0.5 percent at 1 kHz.
The maker lists the product as end of life and no longer sold on its own site, but still offers spare parts and accessories, including replacement ear pads, headband padding, a country adapter set and a power supply. A replacement HDR 175 headset is also listed, along with downloads in many languages.
