The CD-450 is a single-disc CD player in a 2U rack-mount chassis. Its cueing tools are aimed at live and on-air work: Auto Cue moves to the first audio in a track instead of the track ID, Auto Ready pauses at each track ID so the next cue is already set, Call returns to the point where playback started, and Incremental Play moves on to the next track after a stop. The player can search index IDs as well as track IDs, which suits sound effect collections.
The front panel has a 10-key track access pad, a pitch control of ±12% with a clear on/off switch, and a headphone output with level control. Repeat and single track functions are included.
Outputs are unbalanced RCA analog and SPDIF coaxial digital as standard. Two TRS ports on the rear panel work as parallel ports for fader/event start and for play and EOM/stop tallies, so the player can be tied into broadcast consoles. An optional LA-450 adds balanced XLR and AES/EBU outputs, and an optional RC-450C wired remote is available.
