Debut A4.2

The DA42 is a sealed, two-way concentric speaker meant to be placed on top of Debut 2.0 bookshelf and floorstanding models. It adds the overhead dimension for Dolby Atmos playback and needs an Atmos-enabled AV receiver or processor to drive it.

A 0.5-inch polymer dome tweeter is mounted at the centre of the woofer, which the maker says gives better directivity than a single full-range driver. The woofer is a 4-inch woven aramid-fiber cone with an oversized magnet. The crossover point is 2,000 Hz and the stated frequency response is 180 to 20,000 Hz.

The cabinet is CARB2-rated MDF in a black ash vinyl finish. It measures 180 x 125 x 234 mm (W x H x D) and weighs 2.4 kg. Connection is through 5-way metal binding posts, and the speaker is rated for up to 80 watts of input power at 85 dB sensitivity (2.83 V/1 m).
