The PX-T8A G2 is an active two-way monitor with an active crossover and a built-in bi-amp power module, rated at 100W for the low-frequency driver and 30W for the high-frequency driver. It is intended for near-field monitoring in recording and broadcasting rooms and can be used in stereo or multichannel configurations.
The low-frequency driver is an 8-inch polypropylene cone with a paper dust cap, a low-loss SBR surround, a progressive spider and a dual ferrite magnet system with an aluminum short-circuiting ring. The 1-inch soft fabric dome tweeter has a wide-dispersion geometry and a ferrofluid-free magnet system. The die-cast aluminum chassis is open to improve airflow, and the front baffle is extended and shaped to limit diffraction and enclosure vibration.
Tonal adjustment comes from high, mid and low range contour controls and a selectable high-pass filter (flat, 60Hz or 80Hz). An R-Type transformer is used in the output stage. ICON's Vasorb monitor stands are included. A user manual is available for download.
