The JS12 is a right-handed HH electric guitar in the Dinky body shape, made from poplar with a gloss finish. The bolt-on maple neck has graphite reinforcement, a scarf joint, a satin finish and a dual-action truss rod adjusted at the nut. The amaranth fingerboard has a 12-inch (305 mm) radius, 24 jumbo frets and white pearloid dot inlays, on a 25.5-inch scale.

Two Jackson high-output humbuckers with ceramic magnets sit under black covers. A 3-position blade switch selects bridge, bridge plus neck, or neck, and the single volume and tone controls shape the sound. Hardware is black throughout, including a 2-point fulcrum tremolo bridge, sealed die-cast tuners, dome-style knobs and standard strap buttons.

The guitar is strung with nickel-plated steel strings (.009-.042) and comes with a truss rod wrench. It is a passive instrument with no onboard power or digital connections. This listing is for the Metallic Blue finish; the model is also offered in Gloss Black, Metallic Red and Snow White.
