QB1-A

The QB1-A is a three-way active main monitor built around PMC's Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass loading. Four 250mm (10") carbon fibre/Nomex piston drivers handle the low end, a hand-built 75mm soft dome covers the midrange, and a 34mm soft dome tweeter with an acoustic radiator handles the highs. Crossover points are 380Hz and 3.8kHz, and the speaker reaches a peak SPL of 132dB at one metre.

Each channel is driven by Class-D amplifiers with onboard DSP, which handles driver optimisation, EQ and the crossover networks. A wired RJ45 desktop controller with a backlit display and jog wheel gives access to user EQ settings and can store up to four user presets. The cabinet measures 1092 x 820 x 523mm (W x H x D) and is sized to fit most existing studio soffits. It can also be used free-standing, as the ATL design keeps the bass response consistent either way.

Signal comes in through a balanced analogue input or an AES3 digital input at up to 96kHz/24-bit. Input sensitivity is adjustable from +4 to +20dBu. A 20-year warranty applies when the product is registered within 10 days of purchase, subject to terms.
