The Uni Box S3 is a small integrated amplifier with a fully analogue pre-amp and power-amp section, housed in an aluminium case. Analogue sources such as a turntable are not digitised. The amplifier is rated at 2x 23 W into 8 ohms and 2x 40 W into 4 ohms, and it has a separate headphone output and a variable line output.
Streaming is handled by WiiM OS on input 8, with a Cirrus Logic CS4344 DAC working at up to 24 bit / 192 kHz. The Pro-Ject Home app controls the streaming options and guides the Wi-Fi setup. A long press of the Stream button on the front panel resets the Wi-Fi connection. Connected sources such as a turntable, CD player or TV can also be streamed to other compatible streamers.
Inputs include two RCA pairs, a phono MM input, coaxial, two Toslink and HDMI ARC, plus Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 with SBC and AAC. Speakers connect via 4 mm banana plugs, spade connectors or bare wire. It comes in black or silver.
