The E-X20 is a lightweight 61-key keyboard with velocity-sensitive keys and 128-voice polyphony. It carries 391 tones plus 256 GM2 tones and 9 GM2 drum sets, with 10 reverb and 8 chorus types. Piano sounds are intended for lessons, with other tones for classical, pop, rock and jazz playing.
The arranger section offers 253 styles with a tempo range of 30–280, plus start/stop, sync start, intro/ending, two fill-ins, fade and chord controls. Playing a melody with the right hand and chords with the left produces full-band backing. The keyboard also holds 140 internal songs and can record up to 10 songs, and has a metronome and a pitch bend wheel.
It weighs 5.0 kg and has two 10 cm speakers rated at 3 W + 3 W. Power comes from an AC adaptor or six AA alkaline batteries, giving roughly 6.5 hours of continuous use. Connections include a headphone jack, L/MONO and R outputs, a sustain pedal jack and a USB Computer port.
