The SPD::ONE KICK is a small metal-bodied pad that triggers 22 onboard sounds, including kick drums, stomp box, shakers and cowbells. The sounds are arranged in 12 banks chosen with a selector, and the pad responds to sticks, hands or foot strikes. Trigger threshold and sensitivity are set with two dials, while separate knobs handle instrument tuning, effect amount (reverb or distortion) and overall volume.
One user sample slot accepts WAV files up to five seconds long (44.1 kHz, 16-bit, mono or stereo). Files are copied over USB, where the unit appears as mass storage, and the imported sound can be tuned and effected like the internal ones. The USB port also provides USB-MIDI, so the pad can serve as a trigger controller for a computer DAW.
Audio leaves through a mono 1/4-inch output, and a stereo headphone jack allows private monitoring. The pad runs on four AA batteries or an AC adaptor. A supplied mounting adapter clamps it to hi-hat, cymbal, tom or mic stand rods of 8.0–12.7 mm, or it can sit on a floor or table.
