The OCV 6 is a pendant installation loudspeaker built around a 152 mm (6") polypropylene mid bass driver with a coaxially mounted 19 mm (0.75") ferrofluid-cooled soft dome neodymium high frequency driver. The coaxial layout is intended to give wide, consistent directivity and clear speech intelligibility, with a linear response in the manner of Tannoy studio monitors.
The cylindrical enclosure is plated steel in a semi matt black finish, with a powder-coated mild steel grille. It is rated IP64, so it can be used in humid or dusty indoor areas such as swimming pools, saunas and workshops, and outdoors where the weather is moderate. The speaker is rated at 240 W.
Connections are made through Phoenix input and link output connectors, protected by a supplied weatherproof cable gland. An integral low-insertion-loss 60 W transformer has tap switching for 100 V-style line use. The speaker is optimised for LAB GRUPPEN LUCIA amplifiers, which can drive up to 8 OCV Series loudspeakers per channel, and it matches other Tannoy installation loudspeakers in a multi-zone system.
